Children's Liturgy

Program Overview

At the beginning of Mass, Father Tom (or our Visiting Priest) will invite interested children to celebrate the Children's Liturgy of the Word (3-5 years old). Together, we process out of the church, across the screet, and to the Pastoral Center. Parents can accompany their child if they wish to, but this is not a requirement.

When we "Celebrate!" Children's Liturgy of the Word, children and leaders pray and sing using age-appropriate language in a very interactive way:

• Welcome and Introduction
• Song and Praise
• Gospel and Discussion of Gospel (Handout/activity)
• Creed
• Prayers of the Faithful
• Closing Prayer
• Return to church during the Preparation of Gifts

This is just one example of some of the family friendly initiatives that you'll see at La Purisima Concepcion.
