First Communion

Preparation for this sacrament normally begins when the child enters the first or second grade. In order to more fully understand this sacrament it is vital that the child participate in the Sunday Mass every week. The child and the parents are also required to attend the First Communion Retreat in the second year of preparation. The child must receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation prior to receiving First Communion.

Sponsors or Godparents are not necessary for the reception of this sacrament.
