Matrimony
The Faith Community of La Purísima Concepción congratulates you on your decision to marry in the Catholic Church. Our preparation process is intended to help you prepare to enter a marriage that will last for the rest of your lives and to assess your readiness to do so at this time. The basic outline of the process appears below. Each item or requirement will be fully explained to you by Father during your first interview.
Steps Towards a Wedding at La Purísima
Call the Parish Pastoral Center (805) 735-3068 and request an appointment for your pre-marriage interview. Both the bride and the groom must be present. This initial interview must take place at least six months before the proposed wedding date.
Complete the Marriage Information Form and bring it with you to your interview.
If there are no apparent obstacles to your marrying at this time, the person preparing you for marriage will give you a copy of the Marriage Guidelines and explain each requirement. If there are obstacles to marrying at this time, they will be explained to you and you will be told how to resolve them.
The marriage preparation process includes the following:
- Several one hour meetings with the person who is assisting you with the preparation.
- Evaluation of the pre-marital inventory called “Focus” administered with a counselor, used to help assess your readiness for marriage. You will be given the counselor’s name and phone number.
- Collection of the documents necessary to complete your marriage file.
- Proof of baptism or non-baptism for each party.
- Certificates for First Communion and/or Confirmation if received in a Catholic or Orthodox Church.
- Certificate of completion of an approved marriage preparation program.
- Sworn testimony of two people for each party establishing their freedom to marry in the Catholic Church.
- Sworn testimony of both the bride and groom.
- Valid civil marriage license issued by any county in the State of California or, if you are already civilly married, a copy of the marriage license for that ceremony.
- Church decrees of annulment for any kind of prior marriage by either the bride or the groom, whether Catholic or not.
- Any special permission(s) required by Church law.
- Fulfillment of financial obligations.
- Planning the wedding ceremony.
- Rehearsal.
- Celebration of the marriage.

La Comunidad de Fe de La Purísima Concepción le felicita en su decisión de casarse en La Iglesia Católica. Nuestro proceso de preparación está diseñado para ayudarle a prepararse a entrar a un matrimonio, que durara por el resto de sus vidas, y para evaluar si están preparados para matrimonio. La delineación básica del proceso aparece abajo. Cada elemento o requisito será explicado totalmente durante su primera entrevista con el Sacerdote.
Pasos Para El Matrimonio
Llame al Centro Pastoral de la parroquilla a (805) 735-3068 pidiendo una cita para su entrevista pre-Matrimonial. La novia y el novio deben de asistir a la entrevista. La entrevista debe ocurrir a lo menos seis meses antes de la fecha del matrimonio. Completa La Forma de Información de Matrimonio y traiga con usted a la entrevista.
Si no hay obstáculos aparentes para el matrimonio la persona preparándolos para el matrimonio les dará una copia de La Guía Para Matrimonio y explicara cada requisito. Si hay obstáculos para el matrimonio, le serán explicados y le dirán como quitarlos.
El proceso de preparación para el Matrimonio incluye lo siguiente:- Varias juntas de una hora con la persona que va estar asistiéndolos con la preparación.
- Evaluación pre-matrimonial con un consejero. Esta evaluación es usada para determinar si están preparados para matrimonio. Se les dará el nombre y número de teléfono del consejero.
- Colectar los documentos necesarios para completar su archivo de matrimonio.
- Comprobante de bautismo o falta de bautismo para cada persona.
- Certificados de Primera Comunión y/o Confirmación, si estuvo recibida en una Iglesia Católica o Ortodoxa.
- Certificado de finalización de un programa de preparación matrimonial aprobado.
- Cada persona que se va casar debe recibir una declaración jurada de dos personas de su libertad para casarse por la Iglesia Católica.
- Una declaración jurada de la novia y el novio.
- Licencia de matrimonio civil valida expedido por cualquier condado en estado de California. Si están casados civilmente, se necesita una copia de la licencia para esa ceremonia.
- Decretos de la Iglesia de la anulación de cualquier matrimonio previo por la novia o el novio. El matrimonio previo sea católico o no.
- Cualquier permiso especial requerido por la ley de la Iglesia.
- Cumplimiento de obligaciones financieras.
- Planificación de la ceremonia.
- El ensayo.
- Celebración del matrimonio.
